Molly's Dustbin Bread

Brief description of Recipe

If you want a really rubbish recipe, look no further than Molly’s Dustbin Bread.

The name comes from its amazing ability to save things from the dustbin and is a very basic cheese scone-type mix baked in loaf tin

List of ingredients

220g Self Raising flour
salt and pepper to taste
dried herbs of your choice
50g grated cheese (perfect for using up that hard bit nobody wants to eat)
1 egg
80ml sunflower oil
120ml milk

Any odds and ends such as ham, bacon, onions, peppers, garlic, the odd tablespoon of chutney at the end of the jar – you get the picture…

Preparation and Method

Put the flour, salt, pepper, cheese into a bowl. Mix gently.
mix the milk, oil and egg in a jug.
Stir wet ingredients into the dry mix, until you have a soft dough.
Gently add any Dustbin-escapees …

Place in a smallish loaf tin (a foil takeaway container is perfect for this)
Bake at 200°C or Gas Mark 5/6 for around 30 mins until golden.
