Pre Zero Waste Week announcement
Welcome to the 15th annual Zero Waste Week!
Do you want the good news or the bad news?
Well, the good news is we have a fantastic never-done-before theme for this year’s campaign. I’m hugely grateful to Anna for researching and doing all the leg work for this year’s content. She’s got something for everyone, whether you’re brand new to the campaign, or have been with us since the start in 2008. I can’t wait to share it with you.
But before we start, onto some bad news…
The bad news is, this will be the last campaign week where we write content for the week. In other words, from next year, you’re on your own. My baby has grown up into a teenager and now has wings to fly alone. And I know you’re going to be great at nurturing this teen into a full grown adult by organising local events and doing your own thing at home and in the workplace. I trust you. You’ve got this!
The reason behind this is that I’ve received a health diagnosis which has forced me to take a good, look at where I’m putting my time and energy. I’m afraid running the Zero Waste Week campaign didn’t make the cut.
I do want to take a moment to say thank you!
Thank you truly, madly, deeply for being part of this amazing journey of 15 years. I have learned so much from you all, had intriguing conversations with journalists, made wonderful friends in the Zero Waste community and even taken Jeremy Irons shopping! I’ve accrued a loyal and incredible group of ambassadors who have shared the message far and wide with their audiences, been supported by passionate sponsors, been the Prime Minister’s ‘Point of light’, and received uplifting emails from participants who have shared what they’ve been up to.
Each campaign is a lot of work and effort and it’s your interaction and loyalty that put a smile on my face. And knowing that our beautiful planet is benefiting from all your hard work gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling I know you can relate to.
As for me (shameless plug alert!), if you want to stay in touch, workwise, I’m still focusing my energy on my passion for helping people, but in a different way. Having received my own health diagnosis, I know what it’s like to live with stress, fear, anxiety and overwhelm. And I know all about those 3am catastrophising thoughts and existential questions that plague you. For the past 30 years I’ve been helping my clients transform stress and take back control of their physical, emotional and mental health. And there’s nothing like being blindsided by your own diagnosis to put all the things you teach into practise!
The good news? The stuff I teach really works!
If you would like to find out more about that, drop me an email and I’ll share my website and mailing list details.
With that aside, let’s delve into this year’s campaign. Are you ready? I know that you are!
