When is Zero Waste Week 2024 – and how to take part!
Zero Waste Week 2024, takes place 2nd-6th September. It will be the 17th annual campaign!
Here’s what you can do to help promote and support Zero Waste Week:
- Talk to people! There are opportunities at the watercooler, over lunch, at a social event or even in a supermarket queue to start a conversation and show, by example, how people can make a difference.
- On this page you’ll find some images and logos for you to use on your blog, website, posters or social media channels.
- Purchase resources for you school, community group or business to give you some planning ideas.
- Householders can get an easy-to-follow guide on this page for how to join in at home.
- Host a film screening. I was in ‘Trashed’ with Jeremy Irons, talking about waste and sustainability. Find a movie that covers any aspect of waste and hold a discussion or Q&A afterwards.
- Organise a beach clean, litter pick or plastic free coffee morning in your local community. Invite local press to help spread the word further
- Share your stories across social media with the #ZeroWasteWeek hashtag.
- Donate! Your generous donations enable me to create more resources to have greater positive impact.
- Host an event during 2nd-6th September. In the past participants have held workshops on everything from sewing on a button to mending toasters to cooking up a feast made from food which might otherwise have been wasted.
Have a fantastic week and thank you for being part of the solution to the growing problem of waste!
